The moving and heart warming AMAZON BESTSELLER by romance author Jane Harvey-Berrick

Nineteen year old Daniel Colton is the guy all the girls want to date, and the man all the guys want to be. Moody, with an explosive temper, closed off and sullen, he’s also beautiful, tatted in delicious ways, with a pierced eyebrow and spiky black hair. It’s rumoured he has piercings in other places, too. Is he really mad, bad and dangerous to know?

Daniel lives with his older brother, Zef, and their home is party central. You want drugs, a good time, liquor, no questions asked? Colton’s is the place to go.

When Daniel and good girl Lisanne Maclaine have to work on together on assignment, Lisanne finds there’s a lot more to the college’s bad boy than his reputation. He’s intelligent and funny and good company. And then she discovers his secret, why he’s so closed off to everyone, and determined to keep people at arms’ length. But being his secret-keeper is harder than she ever dreamed.

Recommended for readers 18+ due to sexual references and sex scenes, some coarse language, drug references and drug use.

(And if you fall in love with these people, check out Daniel's big brother Zef, and his starring role in CARNIVAL - you'll also see Dan and Lis again!)

Where to start with one of my favorite “coming into your own” stories? This has neither perfect main characters, nor the perfect relationship, but I think that’s what I love about it. We meet Lisanne and Daniel as they each start their first year of college. They each have their hang-ups, preconceived notions of who they are, who others are, what the world is, and they each have their self-esteem issues.

Their relationship like, like so many young ones, has its problems, but is full of passion and fun. The sexual encounters are the most realistic I’ve seen and are honest. Thankfully honest. Too many books have outrageous alphas, frightening dates, stupid girls, or just plain unbelievable bulls*** that no one should believe. Inexperienced young girls aren’t stupid and young men with experience aren’t all cruel. This book is good at pointing that out.

The secondary relationships are really important and I found the relationship between Daniel and Harry, Lisanne’s little brother, to be one of my favorites. Their scenes are the ones that made me laugh outloud.

I don’t want to review the exact the details of what causes the most growth for Lisanne, because it’s everything about her relationship with Daniel, but interacting with Lisanne’s family has a major impact on Daniel. More importantly, it attempts to remind the reader to look beyond themselves. Yes, at times it can feel at bit much, but given the characters, I didn’t care because it felt appropriate. I can’t say enough about this book. It’s a reread for me. 5 nuts.

Dangerous to Know Love edition by Jane HarveyBerrick Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

After reading the novella ‘Behind the wall’ of Jane Harvey-Berrick, I was in the mood for another one of her books. So I decided to read ‘Dangerous to know & love’. A book that I have wanted to read for a few months now but other books always got in the way. So now, was the perfect time for this story and I really loved it.

Jane Harvey-Berrick is a writer whose writing I really enjoy. The men in her books always have that something special. Something that fascinate me very much. They’re usually wild, passionate, angry and emotional but also loyal, gentle and lonely and deep down in their hearts looking for someone to love them for who they really are. And lucky for them and for us, they always find this someone special. Daniel Colton is definitely one of those wild boys.

Although you wouldn’t think so if you see Daniel Colton (with his many tattoos and his piercings) but one of his dreams is to go to college like a normal student and this year his dream came true but to succeed he will have to work hard, harder than most students there. Because Daniel has a secret, he’s deaf. For personal reasons, he doesn’t want people on the university to know this. What does he care that people may think that he’s arrogant for not responding to them? That just mean that they will leave him alone. That’s fine with him. But then he never suspected that he would meet Lisanne MacLaine, a girl who will change everything he ever thought about himself and his future forever.

Lisanne MacLaine loves music! She loves singing it, listening to it and playing it on instruments. Her life is just filled with music. If she had her way, she would just study music but her parents are more practical and they want her to also study something sensible so Lisanne also follows a business course (something that she really doesn’t like or even understand!). One of her fellow students in that business course is Daniel Colton. A boy with tattoos on his body and a pierced eyebrow. Daniel doesn’t only have a bad reputation around the university (thanks to his older brother Zef dealing drugs) but Daniel also has a ‘bad’ vibe around him, that makes him popular with the girls but not so much with the boys. Being a good girl, Lisanne doesn’t have any intention of connecting with Daniel. But then one assignment changes the way that Lisanne looks at Daniel. Slowly they’re getting to know each other, building a friendship and then something more. But love isn’t always easy. Because both never had a relationship before (for different reasons) and the people around them aren’t really happy with the fact that Daniel and Lisanne are falling for each other. And then you have Lisanne’s passion for music and Daniel who can’t share this passion with her. Can they really be together or are the problems they have to face too big for their love?

Daniel Colton is one of those bad boys that you want to hug to ease his pain and at the same time want to have sex with. I don’t know anyone who’s deaf so I found this story interesting, It isn’t easy living in a world where most people can hear. I love the way that Lisanne and Daniel interacted with each other, how through LIsanne Daniel would make new friends. How she helped him make contact with others. I had met Zef (Daniel’s older brother) in The Travelling series so I found it really enlightening to read about Zef’s past too.

If you love bad boys, you definitely have to give this story a try.
This is a really good book. There's a twist to the story that you don't see coming and it's original. This story seems like several others that deal with new college experiences and meeting a guy that is hot and has tattoos and piercings but there is more to him than that. The two main characters are set up on a project in one of their classes.

Daniel has had a tough life - his parents died 2 years ago and his brother deals drugs and there are always parties and people around his house. People think he's hot but the girls don't want to get to know him in his opinion. Lisanne is a music major and has never had a boyfriend of any kind. They start out as friends but then move into more.

Daniel is a wonderful guy, but he does have some issues and gets angry and ready to fight pretty quick. Lisanne is there for him and she shows him that people can care about him and see beyond appearances.
