Treacherous The Wolf Pack Series Book 4 edition by Maureen Smith Literature Fiction eBooks
This is the beginning story of The Wolf Pack that we oh so love! At the head of pack is Sterling, a homicide detective, his wife Celeste a surgical nurse and their two sons Michael and Marcus. We get to see the start when money was a definite issue and they struggled just like everyday folk, then things turn rocky when Celeste falls in love with Grant, a nuerosurgeon at her job. This was an eye opening book for those of us who didn't care for Celeste because we saw that she really was a good wife and mother who loved her family but fell in love with Grant bringing the phrase "the heart wants what the heart wants" to life. It was also good to see what she and Grant had was love and not just lust and she wasn't the gold digger I thought she was. Of course it also made me love Sterling more in how he handled the whole situation with reserve and maturity. Maureen also introduced us to Sterling's brother Stanton and his family, can't wait for his & Prissy's story. So much story for $2.99, a total steal!Product details

Treacherous The Wolf Pack Series Book 4 edition by Maureen Smith Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Oh My Goodness. I loved this book. I am a Brenda Jackson diehard fan, but after reading this book, I have since purchased all the Wolf-Pack series books, and am anxiously waiting for the next installment. Maureen Smith, you know you can weave a story. I at first blushed during some of the lovemaking scenes, but they only enhanced the intensity of the storyline. This was a good read.
It was refreshing learning the history of Sterling & Celesta and their two sons Michael & Marcus. Sterling is such a loving man, husband, father, brother...A TRUE Role Model. And I truly understand why his boys has such unconditional love for their dad and want nothing but the best for him. Reading the previous books I couldn't understand their mother actually I still will never understand how a mother could leave her children; however I sympathize with her, a women marrying out of obligation and really trying find true love and follow her dreams. KUDOS TO STERLING
Despite myself I felt sorry for Celeste although she had the classic case of the grass is always greener on the other side. I don't believe in cheating and I believe that we can control ourselves I know that it's hard and can be extremely difficult at times but it can be done. The author did a beautiful job telling the story and making you care for the characters. As I said I felt for Celeste although her selfish behavior destroyed her family and caused her children great pain. A lesson to be learned by parents your behavior has consequences and their are sacrifices to be made for healthy whole children.
I finished reading this story a few days ago. I was not totally disappointed but i did not really learn anything new about Sterling and Celeste. I still deplore Celeste for the way she betrayed her husband and sons. Celeste was a selfish and materialistic person. Sterling was a good and honorably man not to mention sexy as hell who stepped up to the plate and did the right thing by marrying this(as it turns out) deceitful woman. True, they were not in love to begin with, but the love grew over time. Unfortunately, love was not enough for Celeste, she also wanted to live "the good life" . Well, we all know Sterling did eventually find happiness with Asha Dubois. Just goes to show that sometimes love takes time.
I never want to see a family torn apart but I think everyone is too hard on Celeste. She endured a lot and I know she loves her children but she needed to be allowed to find happiness. How many times have men left relationships when they are going nowhere? Too many to count. I think she was brave to leave whether than stay and remain miserable and in turn make her son's suffer as well. She had remained in her situation for a long time simply enduring. Women shouldn't always be forced to be the martyrs. Great book and story line.
I did not want to read this story, but I read it anyway because it's part of the back story into the wolf pack series. I cannot believe Celeste! She had a loving husband who did everything to try and make her happy. Sterling was entirely too easy on her as well. She really didn't seem all that sorry for wanting another man. She was just sorry she got caught. Grant was a bold man too. He didn't care who he hurt to get what he wanted. But the story was good though!
I always wanted to know the story behind Sterling and Celeste's break up. Before reading their story I almost felt sorry for Celeste, but after reading their story I Hate That Selfish, Self-serving heartless, money grubbing wench. I felt no sympathy for her at all and I disliked Grant even more. Grant may have been more successful and had money, but he was never half the man Sterling was. I loved Sterling and he deserve so much better. He truly was the better man. Celeste was always more concerned about what she didn't have than appreciating the great man she was blessed to get, but never deserved. There was no excuse for her actions and Grant was truly a home-wrecker. They both put themselves in temptations way. Celeste was weak....Weak willed, weak minded and weak moral-ed. First she turns to Sterling on the rebound then traps him into marriage with the oldest trick in the book, yet she still wasn't satisfied. Women like her turn good men bitter and make it hard for the Right woman who comes along next. She was a disgrace. She ruined Sterling's future and chances to go to college, but being a true man of character and a stand up guy, he did the right thing. I believe he grew to love Celeste, although I have no doubt he didn't love her initially. Marriage takes work and nurturing just like a garden. Sterling was a Hero, however no matter how you slice it Grant was a toad and Celeste was a garden tool. They deserved each other. Great story though...I love Maureen Smith's style. LONG LIVE THE WOLF PACK!!
